Economic experts say that recent strong Chinese export data is due to exporters benefiting from increased orders before U.S. tariffs hit. However, the figures are likely to show stress over the coming months.

The worlds two largest economies are currently locked in a bitter trade dispute with U.S. President Donald Trump unhappy with the country’s massive trade deficit against China. The September surplus with the U.S. of $34.13 billion was larger than China’s overall trade surplus of $31.69 billion for the month, showing that despite the escalating trade tensions, China’s economy has held up so far.
