An Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll has revealed that Leo Varadkar’s public approval rating has risen to 51%, with the Government having an approval rating of 42%.

However, Fine Gael still only holds a minor lead over Fianna Fáil, sitting at 29% and 25% respectively, with both parties looking set to compete for the next election.

The poll was conducted between last Friday and Sunday, after the Budget announcement and the Taoiseach’s meeting with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Support for Sinn Féin and Labour has also dropped slightly, with the Green Party rising from 4% to 8%.
