Eight people are reported to have been arrested in Vietnam in connection with the deaths of 39 people in a lorry found in Essex two weeks ago.

On Friday, police in Vietnam said they had arrested two people and summoned others for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

A spokeswoman for Vietnam called the incident a “serious humanitarian tragedy” in a statement on Saturday.

Police in the UK are still searching for suspects in Northern Ireland and are urging them to come forward.
