RTÉ have announced that it will reduce its workforce by 200 in an effort to tackle its financial crisis and reduce projected costs by €60m over the next three years.

Alongside the staff cuts, existing studios in Limerick and the digital radio network will be closed, the RTÉ Guide will be sold and the Aertel service will be shut down.

According to RTÉ News, the production of Lyric FM in Limerick will cease, but a new studio will open for news coverage. Lyric FM production will be moved to Cork.
